Tips for finding the dress of your dreams
So a few weeks ago I made a post about my first dress shopping experiance. Since then I have gone to several other bridal salons and have purchased my dream dress. I have some pictures that I will share with you in this post. None of them are of my actual wedding dress, because I know my fiancé reads my posts and I won't give him a peak at it.
Tip 1: Take more than one person with you.
As tempting as it may be to only take your mom or your maid of honor, take more than one person. It's important to have more than one set of eyes looking at things. We all see little things that the other's may not. For instance one of the gowns I tried on everyone loved on me except for my brother who was able to point out that the style of dress did nothing for my hips and curves and once he pointed it out everyone else saw it too. Make sure the people you take with you are people that are closely connected to the wedding, part of the wedding party, close friends, family, etc.
Tip 2: Try on many different styles.
I wrote in my last post that I wasn't a huge fan of the mermaid style dress. I agreed to try one on at a different salon though and fell in love with the gown. Just because one dress doesn't cut it for you, doesn't mean that a similar style won't work. Play around with your options and try to remember what felt best to you.

Tip 3: Go with your gut.
Everyone says this but it's SO true. This gown was a favorite by everyone, but I just wasn't sure. I agreed that it was beautiful, and everyone was so in love with it, but I just wasn't quite feeling it. It didn't quite feel like me. Which was OK. Not everyone falls in love with the very first dress they try on. It just doesn't always work like that. Take a breath, and stand firm if everyone is telling you that it's the dress but your just not sure.

Tip 4: Find a designer you like.
The first shopping trip that I went on was great and the dress that we all agreed we loved was by Essence of Australia. It was out of my budget though and I didn't want to buy a dress on the first trip without looking anywhere else. On my last trip though I discovered that the bridal salon I was shopping at had recently started carrying Essence of Australia gowns and I got excited. My consultant brought out a new gown she'd just gotten from them and it was perfect. So find a designer that you like and stick with them, many of them have a special signature that makes the dress theirs and is probably what you're drawn to.
